The pony is the symbol of Ferrari, an internationally recognized brand, but why did Enzo Ferrari choose just that to represent his stable?
it is hard to imagine that Enzo Ferrari, when he chose the Cavallino as a symbol for his red, really thought that design would make the difference between a sports car and a luxury sports car. Yet that simple black horse on the yellow field explains to himself how a Ferrari can cost up to a million euros as it happened to Enzo Ferrari, and that specimen with American specifications was sold for 2.7 million euros . Why did Ferrari choose the pony as a symbol of his company?
Although he does not know if he has done it for superstition or imitation, Drake's choice of the car's symbol was a choice of glorious inheritance. In the sense that earlier that was the symbol of the brave air rider Francesco Baracca, the most important of his era even decorated with the prestigious gold medal. Unfortunately, Baracca died in Montello after having won 34 air duels.
The pony was drawn on the carling of his plane, but by the time the two did not exchange the symbol of people. Things went differently. In fact, it all happened on June 17, 1923 when on the Circuit of Savio, Ferrari surprise everyone with a great victory at his first race. At the end of the race he received the compliments from a major count, or Enrico Baracca, the father of the hero who fell five years earlier. The count complimented Ferrari, but the merit of the horse's legacy was the Mother of the Hero of the Sky, Pauline.
The meeting between Drake and Paolina took place in Ferrara during a commemoration of her son. One can think that Paolina had seen in Enzo Ferrari many of the gifts and much of Francis's value. And it was probably for these reasons that he suggested to Drake to use on his cars the symbol of the rampant pony of his son. Yet a modest touch in all of this is there, in fact Ferrari accepted this symbol in a good way, but added a yellow field that would forever remember his hometown, Modena.
